Who We Are
Mississauga Theatre Alliance is an incorporated, non-for-profit organization
established September 1993. We are affiliated with the City of Mississauga – Arts & Culture Division.
In the Early 1990’s, members of local theatre companies met to discuss how to enhance the focus of theatre in Mississauga and how to bridge the communication gap that existed between individual groups.
The desires and goals of these groups led to the formation of the Mississauga Theatre Alliance (MTA) in 1993, when a constitution was drafted, MOA established, and a set of objectives agreed upon.
Broadway Scenic Workshop
Built as the Streetsville Fire station, this building has embarked on a new career as the workshop of the Mississauga Theatre Alliance. Our members can build, store and share sets from this permanent location. This saves on production costs and helps to enhance inter-group communications. A 100-foot mural, painted on the west wall of the building by Mississauga artist Alex Lennox, depicts local theatre. The Broadway Scenic Workshop is located at 180 Broadway Street, south of Tannery Street (in Mississauga's Village of Streetsville).
Since the 2008-2009 season, these members, the organizations comprising Music Theatre Mississauga (MTM), are using The Tannery:
City Centre Musical Productions
Clarkson Music Theatre
Meadowvale Music Theatre
Theatre Unlimited Productions Inc.
Our Mission, Programs,
Values & Objectives
We are a not-for-profit organization devoted to the encouragement and promotion of the development, production, performance, appreciation and enjoyment of theatre in the City of Mississauga.

advocating on behalf of members and theatre community.
The Mississauga Theatre Alliance supports and practices the following core values:

from one another’s presence.
-
Community: MTA recognizes the power of communities, artists, directors, designers, craftspeople, technicians, arts managers and audience members.
-
Accessibility: MTA recognizes the need for its services, programs, policies and practices and the theatre community as a whole to be accessible to all people, including (but not limited to) those facing physical, developmental or financial barriers.
-
Partnerships: Partnering and being actively involved with various stakeholders is fundamental to building a strong theatre community.
-
Fiscal Responsibility: The Board of Directors of the MTA are committed to being fiscally responsible while sustaining the services and programs that support the Mission of the organization.
The Mississauga Theatre Alliance works to achieve the following core objectives:
-
To provide a forum for coordinating member plans and activities.
-
To organize common promotions that will enhance the effectiveness
and awareness of the members' activities.
