Anastasia

Presented by Clarkson Music Theatre
An epic story told in a sweeping style, the story jumps from the fairy tale Romanov Court in Russia to the restrictive regime of post war Russia, then journeys to Paris. Two charlatans embark on a wild ride in "the biggest con in history": they will groom a naive girl to pose as the long lost princess Anastasia to extract money from the Dowager Empress. But when their “princess” (an amnesiac) provides details of the Tsarina’s life that she should not know and falls effortlessly into the “role” of Anastasia, the audience begins to wonder if the girl is a fraud or, in fact, the lost princess herself. Relentlessly pursued by the Russian government, tormented by a barrage of memories, Anastasia must “journey to the past” before discovering her future.
